Advanced photocatalytic materials for water splitting and their rational design
Project aims at targeted preparation of advanced photocatalytic materials for photo(electro) catalytic generation of hydrogen and advanced oxidative processes. Targeted preparation of the novel oxides will explore anisotropy of the hydrogen and oxygen evolution and OH radical formation processes on oriented surfaces of oxides based on Ti (conforming to tetragonal and cubic structural types), Zn, Ta and Fe. Semiconducting oxides with optimized morphology will be doped with transition metal cations to achieve effective control of the Fermi level position to optimize the resulting catalytic performance.
