The Institute of Physics celebrates 70 years of its existence. On 1 January 1954, the direct predecessor of the FZU, the Institute of Physics of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences was founded. On this page, you will find events that await us in 2023 and 2024, interesting facts and bits of the history of the FZU and other related information. We are continuously updating the information.

    Festive meeting on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of FZU (Rudolfinum) 
    All FZU employees are invited to the event. Reservation of places will be launched in the summer months.
  • October/November (date to be announced)
    Talks on the history and future of FZU
    A series of talks on the development and future outlook of the most important research areas at FZU. The five discipline-specific lectures will be followed by a final lecture summarizing the history and future of FZU by the Director Michael Prouza. The lectures will be held in English at Slovanka. More information about events and dates will be published in the summer months.

    Laboratory tours in the FZU buildings
    Come and see how the laboratories you have worked in have been transformed and visit the newest laboratories at FZU. More information about the event and dates will be announced in the summer months.
