Dr. Jiří Červenka was appointed as a Science Secretary of the FZU in 2017.
Jiří Červenka holds a Master of Science in Physical Engineering from Brno University of Technology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology. Following a postdoctoral position at the FZU, he has taken up a Research Fellow position at The University of Melbourne. After four years Dr. Červenka returned back to the FZU becoming a leader of a research group of Nanoscale Materials and Nanosystems in the Department of Thin Films and Nanostructures.
His research interests include the physics of new nanomaterials and their applications in electronics, batteries and sensors. Jiří Červenka is a holder of a prestigious J. E. Purkyně Fellowship of the Czech Academy of Sciences and a Discovery Early Career Researcher Award from the Australian Research Council.
As a Science Secretary Dr. Červenka is responsible for the management of research, development of new strategies and modernization of the FZU. He is acting as a coordinator and project manager of Operational Programme projects financed from the European Structural and Investment Funds. During years 2016-2020, he has coordinated projects SOLID21, HR Award FZU, STIMUL, and Mobility FZU.
