CERGE-EI Library moves to Library Office due to renovation

From September 14, 2022, CERGE-EI library will temporarily operate in restricted mode in order to allow for its much-needed and long-prepared complete renovation. During Fall, all library services including book lending will be provided in the Library Office located opposite to the library’s main entrance.
Please submit requests for book lending via the library catalog first and after receiving notification email pick them up in the library staff office. You may come in regular opening hours to renew/return books.
Please note that NO on-site study will be available during the library renovation.
Let us also remind you that it is possible to return your loans anytime to the library drop box. Returned items will be written off your account no later than the next opening day.

New Library Platform

The libraries of Charles University started operating in the new library platform Alma. The platform includes a new form of the discovery service UKAŽ ("library catalog"), which allows simultaneous searching of printed, digitized and electronic resources available at CU. It also provides direct access to your library account for tracking and renewing loans and making loan requests. You may limit your search only to items accessible from the Jan Kmenta CERGE-EI Library.
Library Catalog unavailable 12th - 31st of August

New Charles University library platform combining library catalog and discovery service will be launched in September 2021. Due to the transition process, our library catalog will be completely unavailable from 12th to 31st of August 2021. No loans or catalog searches will be possible during this period. We would thus like to encourage you to check out any books you might need by August 11, 2021.
New Drop Box for Your Returns

A new library drop box for your book and other returns has been installed in front of the library entrance. The drop box is accessible 24/7 for CERGE-EI members, for others daily between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
As long as the library premises remain closed, dropped off items may stay on your library account for several more days before they are checked in. No fines will be incurred during this period.
Please use our drop box to return only items that you borrowed from the Jan Kmenta CERGE-EI Library.
