High-energy collisions of ions with complex organic molecules.

The goal of the project is to (i) built the specially designed experimental apparatus for studies focused on high-energy ion-induced excitation, ionization and dissociation of complex organic and bioorganic molecules, and (ii) using this new instrument to perform series of experiments with selected ions and molecules aiming at understanding elementary processes connected with ultrafast high-energy interactions of ions with molecules in the gas phase, namely the energy transfer and its deposition in both collision partners and their subsequent chemical reactions.
