Head of Plasma Chemistry Technologies Department
The Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, v. v. i., is seeking a highly qualified and motivated researcher for the position of Head of the Plasma Chemistry Technologies Department.
About the Institute and Department: The Institute of Plasma Physics is a renowned research institution dedicated to the study of plasma physics and its various applications. The Plasma Chemistry Technologies Department focuses on cutting-edge research of thermal plasma utilization for waste treatment, hydrogen production, decarbonization of natural gas, and the production of carbon and other nanoparticles for battery applications. The department boasts state-of-the-art laboratories and a dynamic team of researchers and technicians.
Responsibilities: As the Head of the Plasma Chemistry Technologies Department, you will lead a team of twenty dedicated researchers and technicians. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Providing scientific and technical leadership in the field of plasma chemistry technologies.
Overseeing and driving research projects related to thermal plasma utilization, hydrogen production, decarbonization of natural gas, and nanoparticle synthesis.
Fostering collaborations with industrial partners and leading the implementation of innovative projects.
Managing and mentoring the department's research team, including researchers and skilled technicians.
Securing research grants and funding to support the department's activities.
Promoting the dissemination of research results through publications and participation in conferences and scientific events.
Requirements:
- A completed doctoral degree in Chemical and Energy Fuel Processing, Energetics, Plasma Physics, Plasma Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of research experience in a relevant scientific field.
- Track record of successful project management, including securing grants and leading research projects.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Prior experience in managing a research team is beneficial.
- Fluent proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Czech language beneficial but not required.

CAD konstruktér/konstruktérka CATIA V5 pro fúzní experiment tokamak COMPASS-U
Ústav fyziky plazmatu AV ČR v současnosti konstruuje nové velké fyzikální experimentální zařízení pro výzkum termojaderné fúze (tokamak COMPASS Upgrade) a hledá mechanické inženýry/konstruktéry, kteří se budou podílet na realizaci zařízení.
Náplň práce:
Vývoj komponent tokamaku a jeho diagnostických systémů ve spolupráci s fyziky a inženýry
Tvorba 3D modelů a sestav v CAD softwaru CATIA V5
Spolupráce na přípravě 2D výrobních výkresů
Optimalizace návrhu ve spolupráci s ANSYS výpočtáři
Komunikace a spolupráce s externími dodavateli a firmami
Zajišťování technické úrovně finálních komponent zařízení
Úzká spolupráce s techniky při kompletaci nového zařízení
Požadavky:
- Znalost softwaru CATIA V5
- VŠ strojního zaměření
- Schopnost pracovat v dynamickém, kolaborativním prostředí
- Ochota učit se nové dovednosti a technologie
- Zodpovědnost, pečlivost, samostatnou iniciativu při řešení vývojových úkolů
- Dobrá ústní a písemná komunikace v angličtině

Ústav fyziky plazmatu AV ČR v současnosti konstruuje nové velké fyzikální experimentální zařízení pro výzkum termojaderné fúze (tokamak COMPASS Upgrade) a hledá IT administrátora / administrátorku pro posílení týmu, který spravuje IT infrastrukturu vědeckého zařízení. IT infrastruktura se skládá ze 17 HW serverů s 50 virtuálními servery, z cca 120 stanic a 15 sběrů dat. Infrastruktura má cca 260 aktivních účtů, včetně mnoha externích i mezinárodních.
Náplň práce:
- administrace serverů a pracovních stanic (Linux/Windows)
- správa datových úložišť (Linux, ZFS)
- údržba HW
- IT automatizace (SaltStack)
Požadavky:
- dobrá znalost administrace Linuxu
- zkušenosti s automatizací IT (SaltStack / Ansible, apod.)
- zkušenosti se správou sítí
- orientace v hardwaru
- orientace ve virtualizaci (KVM/QEMU, lxc, Proxmox)
- schopnost pracovat v týmu a ochota učit se novým věcem
- samostatná iniciativa při řešení úkolů
- Angličtina (pokročilá) - dobrá ústní a písemná komunikace v angličtině (cca třetina zaměstnanců jsou cizinci)
