🇬🇧 Biomedical research towards effective diagnosis and treatment

Máme velkou radost, že nový projekt ÚEM AV ČR

Máme velkou radost, že nový projekt ÚEM AV ČR s názvem 👉 „Centrum excelence v regenerativní medicíně“ uspěl ve výzvě „Špičkový výzkum“ a získal podporu Operačního programu Jana Amose Komenského (OPJAK).

Cílem projektu je vytvořit konsorcium, které částečně naváže na dosavadní úspěchy Centra rekonstrukčních neurověd – NEURORECON, a které se bude zabývat výzkumem v oblasti léčebných metod regenerativní medicíny a tkáňového inženýrství. Od projektu se očekává zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti ČR v daném oboru, a to zejména díky novým aplikovatelným výsledkům výzkumu a vývoje. Aktivity projektu jsou zaměřeny na obnovu poškozených tkání, které dosud není možné léčit nebo jejichž regenerační schopnost je značně omezená.

Spolu s námi se budou na projektu dále podílet:

We are very pleased that a new project of the IEM CAS entitled 👉 "Centre of Excellence in Regenerative Medicine" has succeeded in the call "Excellence in Research" and has received support from the Johannes Amos Comenius Programme (OPJAK).

The project aims to create a Consortium, which will partly follow on from the achievements of the Centre for Reconstructive Neurosciences - NEURORECON, and will be involved in research in the therapeutic methods of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. The project is expected to increase the competitiveness of the Czech Republic in this field of science, primarily through new applicable research and development results. The project activities focus on regenerating damaged tissues that cannot yet be treated or whose regenerative capacity is very limited.

Prestižní vědecký časopis "The Journal of Neu

Prestižní vědecký časopis "The Journal of Neuroscience" v krátké době zveřejnil již druhou publikaci vědců z ÚEM AV ČR. Jedná se o studii s názvem 👉 „Subunit-Dependent Surface Mobility and Localization of NMDA Receptors in Hippocampal Neurons Measured Using Nanobody Probes“, na které se podílel tým neurovědců 👨‍🔬 z Odd. neurochemie spolu s kolegy z partnerských ústavů AV ČR.

Zmíněná publikace představuje komplexní mikroskopickou studii o povrchové lokalizaci a mobilitě glutamátového podtypu NMDA receptoru v hipokampálních neuronech. Provedené pokusy ukázaly výrazné rozdíly v povrchové lokalizaci a difúzních koeficientech jednotlivých podtypů NMDA receptorů v synaptických a extrasynaptických oblastech neuronů. Vyvinuté superrozlišovací mikroskopické přístupy včetně nově charakterizovaných mikroskopických sond budou dále využity pro porozumění molekulárních mechanismů neuropsychiatrických onemocnění včetně epilepsie a Alzheimerovy choroby, které jsou přímo spojeny s abnormální regulací NMDA receptorů.🧠

The prestigious Journal of Neuroscience has already published a second study by scientists from the IEM CAS. It is a study entitled 👉 "Subunit-Dependent Surface Mobility and Localization of NMDA Receptors in Hippocampal Neurons Measured Using Nanobody Probes ", in which a team of neuroscientists 👨‍🔬 from the Dept. of Neurochemistry and colleagues from partner institutes of the CAS cooperated together.

This publication presents a comprehensive microscopic study of the surface localisation and mobility of the glutamate subtype of the NMDA receptor in hippocampal neurons. The experiments showed significant differences in the surface localisation and diffusion coefficients of different NMDA receptor subtypes in synaptic and extrasynaptic regions of neurons. The developed super-resolution microscopy approaches, including the newly characterised microscopic probes, will be used to understand the molecular mechanisms of neuropsychiatric diseases, especially epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease, which are directly linked with abnormal regulation of NMDA receptors.🧠

Polovinu léta máme za sebou, proto jsme si pro Vás připravili další „cestovatelské okénko“.😉 Tentokrát se společně podíváme do italského Toskánska 🇮🇹, přesněji do města Barga, kam přijala pozvání k aktivní účasti naše neurovědkyně 👩‍🔬 Kristýna Kárová.

V rámci "Gordon Research Conference - Central Nervous System Injury and Repair" zde prezentovala aktuální výsledky projektu 👉 "PI3Kδ k regeneraci axonů po míšním poranění". V něm vědci zkoumali stimulační účinky genové terapie v potkaním modelu míšního poranění. Výsledky ukázaly funkční zlepšení motoriky, což následně potvrdily také kontrolní behaviorální testy a elektrofyziologická měření.

Kristýnina prezentace byla vybrána mezi 3 oceněné příspěvky, které získaly cenu 🏅 „Mary Kate World Women in SCI Travel Award“ za tzv. Best Talk - nejlepší řeč.👍

The holidays are halfway through, so we have prepared another "travel window" for you.😉 This time, we are going to Tuscany, Italy 🇮🇹, more precisely to Barga, where our neuroscientist 👩‍🔬 Kristýna Kárová has accepted an invitation to actively participate.

She presented the current results of the project 👉 "PI3Kdelta for axon regeneration in spinal cord injury" at the International Gordon Research Conference - Central Nervous System Injury and Repair". Within this project, the researchers investigated the stimulatory effects of gene therapy in a rat model of spinal cord injury. The results showed functional improvement in motor function, which was subsequently confirmed by control behavioural tests and electrophysiological measurements.

Her presentation was selected as one of 3 award-winning contributions to receive the 🏅 "Mary Kate World Women in SCI Travel Award" for the Best Talk.👍
