We seek an experienced project manager to manage and coordinate project FORTE, recently awarded under the call „Špičkový výzkum“ of Operation Program Jan Amos Komensky.

Project FORTE brings together a team of 140 scientists and engineers from five partner institutions to address open problems in physics and astronomy. The general project goal is to significantly expand our current knowledge of the fundamental constituents of matter in the Universe.  

What you will do

  • Ensure smooth running of the project in compliance with the rules and methodology documentation of the OP JAK while working closely with the project scientific manager and the project executive committee
  • Ensure timely delivery of pre-set milestones, documentation, and fulfilment of indicators. Prepare and process monitoring reports
  • Effectively communicate and negotiate with the grant provider (MEYS). Assist in case of checks and audits
  • Head and manage the project administrative team. Coordinate the work of project administration teams in partner institutions.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and project teams to organise tenders and purchases, hiring and project publicity. Be responsible for ongoing training of the scientific implementation team in the rules and obligations of the project
  • Supervise the organization of workshops, conferences, and other events of the project in coordination with the scientific implementation team

What we expect

  • Proven experience in project management and administration of large projects (preferably experience with projects financed by ESIF)
  • University degree
  • Fluent knowledge of Czech, as native, or at least at C2 level (spoken and written)
  • Excellent knowledge of English, at least at C1 level (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge and experience with digital project management tools to facilitate continuous reporting across institutions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving
  • Independence, responsibility, and willingness to learn new things
