In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (the General Data Protection Regulation), we would like to inform you by means of this document how your personal data is processed by our organisation.

The Institute of Art History, Czech Academy of Sciences (IAH CAS), as controller of the personal data, processes the personal data for the following purposes, in particular:
a) Carrying out internal processes
b) Carrying out tasks in the public interest
c) Administering matters relating to contractual obligations
d) Sending out newsletters and updating the website
e) Administering monitoring and checking processes
f) Processing orders
Personal data are not passed on to other persons, except for our contractual partners in cases where they are involved together with us in processing your personal data (i.e. processors), for example, persons providing technical support for, servicing, or operating our computer systems, programs, networks, and website, providers of postal services, and providers of benefits for employees, marketing services, and salary accounts. Personal data are also passed on to other persons if the IAH CAS is legally obliged to pass them on to the authorities, government agencies, or institutions, or if the data subject has given their consent to this.
During the processing of personal data at the IAH CAS, no use is made of automated decision-making, on the basis of which acts might be carried out or decisions taken having an impact on the rights or legitimate interests of data subjects.
Personal data are processed only for the requisite period of time, which varies depending on the specific purpose of the processing, and is stipulated by the currently valid Filing Plan and Retention Schedule, issued in accordance with Czech law 499/2004 on Archives and Records Management. When this period has expired, the personal data are erased, unless they are in documents selected in accordance with the law on archives.
In connection with the processing of your personal data, you have the right to access to your personal data, the right to their rectification or erasure, or where appropriate the restriction of their processing, the right to object to their processing, and where applicable to assert your right to data portability and other rights in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. You should approach the responsible person to assert your rights and make your requests. Your requests will always be properly assessed and dealt with in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Regulation.
