Photocatalytic degradation of new types of organic pollutants in wastewater
The aim is to determine the overall environmental impact of photocatalytic technology for water purification with a focus on new types of toxicologically important pollutants and their selection for detailed research. Comparison of the toxicity of the input pollutants and the final products of photocatalytic degradation in order to achieve the highest possible degree of chemical conversion based on the optimization of the used photocatalytic systems. Relevant human cell cultures will be used for toxicological tests (cooperation with the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the AS CR).
