Abstract:
The main target of the project is to characterize the basis properties (treshold current, spectral region of the laser emission, the area of tunability,...) of the semiconductor lasers and diods in the infrared region. The second part of our project will be oriented to connect the lasers or diods with the FTIR spectrometer and used them as a relatively intense infrared sources for the measurent of the atmospheric gases absorb in the emission region of the used sources.
The second target of the COST project is focused on preparation and study of new materials (based on hydrogen-bonded salts of organic cations) for second harmonic generation (SHG), and deals with the systems capable of forming a variety of intermolecular hydrogen bonds based on guanidine, biguanide, biurete and aromatic N-containing cyclic amines compounds with inorganic oxy-acids (ability to form a hydrogen-bonded anionic framework). The crystal structures, vibrational spectra, optical properties and determination of SHG efficiency of prepared compounds will be study in the frame of this project. The particular attention will be paid to the vibrational contributions to the first and second hyperpolarizabilities of molecules measured in the main crystallographic directions.
