V ČR se vyskytuje 8 endemických zástupců hybridogenních jeřábů (Sorbus sp.), vzniklých hybridizací běžně rozšířených základních druhů. Souhrou určitých mikroevolučních procesů se jejich unikátní vlastnosti fixují. Populace těchto jeřábů, jejichž velikost kolísá od několika kusů (S. hardeggensis) po cca tisíc exemplářů (S. bohemica), jsou aktuálně ohroženy především přezvěřením a konkurencí rychleji rostoucích dřevin. Současný výzkum boří některé zažité mýty o endemických jeřábech.

Eight endemic hybridogenous whitebeams (Sorbus sp.) grow in the Czech Republic, developed through hybridization of common basic Sorbus species. Through certain microevolution processes their unique features are fixed. Populations of these plants, ranging from several individuals (S. hardeggensis) up to several thousands of trees (S. bohemica), are now endangered, mainly due to overpopulation of game and to strong competition from fast-growing woody species. Current research challenges some myths surrounding endemic Sorbus representatives.
