Palmy rodu Corypha mají obrovité květenství nad chocholem listů, dorůstající až několik metrů. Květenství může zahrnovat až několik milionů květů a tvoří se jen jednou po několika desítkách let života palmy, která po dozrání plodů umírá. Rod pochází z tropů Starého světa, některé druhy jsou v přírodě už kriticky ohrožené.

Palms of the Corypha genus have a giant inflorescence formed above the cluster of leaves. This inflorescence can even reach several metres in height and can contain up to several million flowers. Nevertheless the flowers appear only once after several decades of palm growing and the plant dies after the fruits ripen. This genus originates from tropical regions of the Old World. Some species are critically endangered in their natural habitat.
