Vědecké zaměření Oddělení biofyzikální chemie
Oddělení biofyzikální chemie kombinuje dva základní výzkumné přístupy: fluorescenční spektroskopii a mikroskopii (směr "Biospektroskopie") a elektrochemické metody (směr "Bioelektrochemie"). Oba směry, podporované výpočetními metodami, směřují ke společnému cíli: porozumět struktuře, mechanismům fungování a dynamice biologicky relevantních systémů na molekulární a atomistické úrovni. Předmětem vědeckého zájmu jsou současná témata související s neurodegenerativními chorobami, buněčnou signalizací, apoptózou buněk, imunitní odpovědí, genovou terapií a enzymologií.
