Transmission Electron Microscopy in Life Sciences

The Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences together with the research infrastructure Czech-BioImaging would like to invite you to attend the 5-day theoretical and practical course “Transmission Electron Microscopy in Life Sciences” (TEM).

The course is aimed at beginners and intermediate users of transmission electron microscopes. After the course, participants will understand the principles of construction and function of transmission electron microscopes, the basics of sample preparation techniques, and will receive the extensive practice during hands-on sessions on three transmission electron microscopes of varying complexity. The participants are encouraged to bring their own samples on TEM grids for ambient temperature imaging.

  • Highly experienced tutors – focus on hands-on training

The course will be taught in English.
