Abstract
Calcium channels are important players in the afferent pain pathway. The Cav3.2 T-type channel subtype is up-regulated in chronic pain states and its pharmacological inhibition mediates analgesia. I will speak about direct inhibitors of these channels and how post translational modification by the ubiquitin system can be targeted for the development of small organic pain therapeutics.
