Výzva k online čtení 13. prosince 2023 / A call for online reading on December 13 2023.
Při příležitosti výročí 400 let od sepsání slavného Komenského díla Labyrint světa a Lusthauz srdce v roce 1623 vybízíme k účasti ve světovém online čtení z Labyrintu v den uvedený na konci dedikace Karlu Staršímu ze Žerotína: 13. prosince 1623, naše čtení tedy proběhne 13. prosince 2023.
Rádi bychom touto cestou připomněli jednak výročí sepsání samotného Labyrintu světa a Lusthauzu srdce (později Ráje srdce), jednak také upozornili na jeho světovou proslulost a vyzvali ke čtení v různých jazycích, do kterých byl převeden (angličtina; bulharština; novočeština; francouzština; gruzínština; chorvatština; italština; japonština; korejština; litevština; maďarština; němčina; nizozemština; norština; polština; portugalština; rumunština; ruština; slovenština; srbština; španělština; švédština; ukrajinština; vietnamština). Tak by byl Labyrint důstojně připomenut jako dílo, které se po smrti Komenského stalo jednou z ikon české literatury světového významu.
Číst je možné jakoukoliv vybranou pasáž, aby byla zastoupena každá kapitola Labyrintu. Základním textem bude jistě obecně nejčastěji vydávané a překládané amsterdamské vydání z roku 1663, ale možné je číst z verze rukopisné z roku 1623 (vydáno T. Havelka, ed. Duchovní traktáty I, Brno: Host 2022, s. 9–126), nebo (asi) lešenské z roku 1631 (vydáno J. V. Novák, ed., Veškeré spisy Jana Amose Komenského XV, Brno: Ústřední spolek Jednot učitelských na Moravě 1910, s. 188–328).
Smyslem je obsadit každou kapitolu četbou, jednotlivé výstupy čtenářů by měly mít rozsah maximálně 15 minut. Některé kapitoly zazní celé, ale z některých delších jen ukázky. Naopak některé kratší kapitoly na 15 minut ani nevyjdou: pak je možné řešení říci delší úvod, anebo přibrat i jinou pasáž – v tom případě prosíme nahlásit ji organizátorům, abychom mohli zachytit případné duplicitní pasáže. Každý čtenář, každá čtenářka by se měl/měla anglicky krátce představit a uvést pár komentářů k Labyrintu (např. proč si vybral/vybrala svou pasáž, jaký je jeho/její vztah k Labyrintu, jak ho hodnotí apod.).
Čas čtení je stanoven podle středoevropského času (SEČ, CET) od 8:00 do 22:00. Celá akce bude přenášená online na kanálu YouTube Comenius online: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkPUamXdlAJsfr01290EPqg.

On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the finishing of Comenius' famous work Labyrinth of the World and Lusthauz of the Heart in 1623, we invite you to participate in a worldwide online reading from the Labyrinth on the date listed at the end of the dedication to Charles the Elder of Žerotín, i.e. December 13, 1623, so our reading will be on December 13, 2023.
In this way we would like to commemorate both the anniversary of the creation of the Labyrinth of the World and Lusthaus of the Heart (later Paradise of the Heart) itself, as well as to draw attention to its worldwide fame and invite you to read it in the various languages into which it was translated (Bulgarian; Croatian; Czech (modern); Dutch; English; French; Georgian; German; Hungarian; Italian; Japanese; Korean; Lithuanian; Norwegian; Polish; Portuguese; Romanian; Russian; Serbian; Slovak; Spanish; Swedish; Ukrainian; Vietnamese). In this way, Labyrinth would be worthily commemorated as a work that, after Comenius' death, became one of the iconic texts of Czech literature and world-famous writing.
Any selected passage can be read so that every chapter of Labyrinth is represented. The basic text will be the most frequently published and translated Amsterdam edition of 1663, but it is possible to read from the manuscript version of 1623 (published by T. Havelka, ed. Duchovní traktáty I [Spiritual Treatises I], Brno: Host 2022, pp. 9-126), or from the (most likely) Leszno version of 1631 (published by J. V. Novák, ed., Veškeré spisy Jana Amose Komenského XV [Collected Writings of Jan Amos Komenský XV], Brno: Ústřední spolek Jednot učitelských na Moravě 1910, pp. 188-328).
The intention is to represent each chapter in our reading, and individual reader outputs should be no longer than 15 minutes. Some chapters will be read in full, other only in excerpts if they are too long. Conversely, some shorter chapters will not even cover 15 minutes, therefore, the reader can say a longer introduction, or to include another passage – in which case please contact the organisers in advance, so that we can deal with any duplicate passages. Each reader should briefly introduce himself/herself in English and make a few comments about the Labyrinth (e.g. why he/she chose his/her passage, what is his/her relationship to the Labyrinth, how he/she evaluates it, etc.).
The reading time is set according to Central European Time (CET) from 8:00 to 22:00. The event will be streamed online on the Comenius online YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkPUamXdlAJsfr01290EPqg.
