The courage to help others has won!
We chose the right moment to band together and step out of the crowd to lend a helping hand to those who were in need of it.
Together and systematically #StandWithUkraine.
24 February 2022. The war in Ukraine broke out. We were shaken and wanted to help.
Speed was key!
Our solution was finalized within 3 days. The idea of a help directory sprung up in multiple places at once. Česko.Digital took it under its wing in the very beginnings and supported it with the force of their active community of expert volunteers. Thanks to us making use of our three-year experience and the technical support of solidpixels., the directory was completed pretty much within one weekend. A number of volunteers, organizations and companies then helped to further improve and promote it. By working together, we have created the informational directory Stojíme za Ukrajinou.

🗓 24 February 2022
24.2.2022 is not just the day when the war in Ukraine started, it is also the day when a huge wave of solidarity arose.
24.2.2022 is the day when we could all witness that there are many true heroes among us!
For maximum clarity and to lessen information fragmentation.
We created a website which simplified the process for those who wanted to help but did not know how (I want to help), and to those who needed the help but did not know where to turn (I need help). So, the directory was created in 4 language variations.
The numbers were incredible!
In the first week since the launch the directory was visited by 156 000 people.
And after one month, the site was visited by 353 000 users.
Why was it really worth the effort?
Throughout its full run, the website was visited by 771 000 people.
The directory was helping not only those coming into the Czech Republic, but was visited by a further 83 200 people from within the Ukrainian territory looking for help.
4 language variations
🇨🇿 & 🇬🇧 "How to help" and 🇺🇦 & 🇷🇺 "I am seeking help".
370 000 people sought help on the website.
217 000 people offered help.
An organic content growth. The public gets involved.
After the directory’s creation, on 27.2. a pool of suggestions from the public was opened, with the intent to continue improving the directory’s content. In total, 255 ideas from users were collected.
142 entries were added based on information gathered from the public.
13 categories for aid were created.

We also have to thank the organizations with whom we had the honor of forming strong partnerships!
With their help we were able to quickly create a composed place that people could lean on within the stunned society. And for that, they deserve our thanks.
Further, we want to thank everyone in the CR who continuously works to encourage discussions about human rights, especially pertaining to Ukraine, and all who facilitated aid to those who needed it. You formed a fertile soil without which the directory could never have been created.
We were connected by a wave of solidarity and a desire to help.
The resulting project proves that there are many brave and selfless people are among us!
A project that proves that courage within all of us has won!
🥇 Awards we have collected
We have been awarded the 1st place at the Křišťálová lupa 2022 awards in the category Public service - an award from České televize!
What do the people involved say?
“The war in Ukraine caused a society-wide shock. The ambition of the directory was to contribute to the managing of this emergency situation - quickly and effectively. Its success was the work of many people. Those who helped to create the directory, to perfect and promote it. And also those who hold the banner of aid long-term, in nonprofit organizations, companies, institutions, or as individual people. They help to fortify the topic of human rights, to solve challenges in society, or to care for communities. Thanks to them the directory got the opportunity to exist. The role of Česko.Digital was irreplacable. Its patronage over the project when it was most needed brought with it the credibility of a well-known brand, and a space of a diverse, active and strong community of expert volunteers.” - Kateřina Jiřinová, Product Owner
„Every time something like this happens, there are many organizations and people who want to help. They wait around for a bit to see if anything will happen, and if nothing does, they start its realization themselves. That’s how people end up working on the same things at the same time. The Česko.Digital community’s contribution provided the experts from various fields a neutral ground from which they could join forces and help effectively.“ - Jiří Sekera, volunteer and one of the main coordinators of the project
„To see the huge wave of solidarity and to help it aim for the right places through the rapidly emerging project is like a dream. The team on the side of Česko.Digital and the volunteers were both a delight to work with. Thank you for the opportunity to be there.“ - Adina Foxová, designer in the Stojíme za Ukrajinou project
„We once again managed to connect worlds which speak different languages but together can accomplish incredible things – tech firms and the nonprofit sector. Our main goal was to immediately create centralized spaces for help to everyone fleeing the war into our country. Within one day the stojimezaukrajinou.cz website was visited by around 100 thousand people. They were either entering or wanted to aid Ukraine and wanted to get familiar with a new environment in their own language.“ - Tereza Gagnon, Head of Partnership & Fundraising Česko.Digital
„Synergy and cooperation are key components for long-term and lasting aid at this time. The expert volunteer union in our Česko.Digital community once again showed that they can join forces within an extremely short time frame and use their expertise for essential projects impacting the whole society. It is important to say that we could not have accomplished such a result were it not for the long-term support of expert volunteering within the community. Great admiration is due for all who were involved.“ - Eva Pavlíková, CEO of the community of expert volunteers
No fragmentation of efforts, but joining forces. There is power in community.
✍️ What was written about us
A new directory created in Czechia with instructions on how to help Ukraine, Stojíme za Ukrajinou.
Social media was flooded with a huge amount of solidarity and ideas on how to help Ukrainian citizens fleeing the war. Hundreds of people and dozens of companies have joined under the head of the Stojíme za Ukrajinou platform. Together with the community of expert volunteers from Česko.Digital, they created the stojimezaukrajinou.cz directory.
Lupa.cz
An overview of both financial and material aid, offers for accommodation for refugees, transport, legal aid or psychological help. The web directory Stojimezaukrajinou.cz offers information about all available forms of aid for Ukraine, which is facing an invasion of the Russian army.
The volunteer organization that stands behind the project which was created during the weekend is Česko.Digital.
But, to make an offered hand meet effectivity, hundreds of people and dozens of companies have joined under the head of the unified Stojíme za Ukrajinou platform. Together with the community of expert volunteers from Česko.Digital, they created the stojimezaukrajinou.cz directory.
The IKEA, Plzeňský Prazdroj, Staropramen, Tchibo, mBank, Škoda, Dr. Theiss, Vodafone, Dr. Max brands and others are donating their promotional space to help Ukraine. A spot featuring the directory of aid stojimezaukrajinou.cz is already on television.
63 articles.
In 3 weeks, 63 articles informing the public about projects reacting to help the incoming refugees from Ukraine have been published in both printed and online media.
Help when it was most needed
The ambition of the directory was to quickly react to the crisis and to contribute to its handling during the first months when society was still in shock. This goal has been fulfilled. We leave the following solutions in the care of institutions and organizations that are committed to helping long-term.
We trust and hope that our society will not have a need for many projects of this kind. Still, if such a situation arose, the Česko.Digital community is here.
