Dr. Stanislav Pospíšil, Emeritus Director of the Institute of Technical and Experimental Physics at the Czech Technical University (ČVUT) in Prague

 The lecture provides an overview of the achievements in developing hybrid pixel detectors, particularly Medipix/Timepix detectors, over a 25-year period in international collaborations coordinated by CERN. The focus is on the detectors' applications in various scientific fields, showcasing their success in areas such as X-ray imaging, tomography, dosimetry, and structural analysis of materials. The lecture also explores the unintended but impactful applications of these detectors and discusses the potential future use of the "particle tracking and recognition" methodology in nuclear and particle physics experiments.
