Jiri Horak works as a Research Scientist at the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. He obtained his PhD degree at Charles University in Prague in 2005.
His research focuses on the physics of accretion flows on the neutron stars and black holes, high-energy radiation scattered by relativistic jets and on the strong gravitational lensing close to very compact objects. He is also interested in resonant effects in orbital motion in strong gravitational field and in nonlinear oscillations of accretion disks.
