A postdoc or junior scientist position is available to join Computational psychometrics (COMPS) group at Department of Statistical Modelling for the project “Research of Excellence on Digital Technologies and Wellbeing” (DigiWELL, reg. no.CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004583, project duration 2024 - 2028).
The DigiWELL project responds to research challenges in key areas of the rapidly evolving domain of digital technologies aimed at promoting physical, mental and social wellbeing. Within the project, we are responsible for the work package focused on developing, optimizing and applying techniques for statistical modelling of the complex data beyond the currently available methods.

Ústav informatiky AV ČR, v. v. i. byl úspěšný v rámci prestižní výzvy Špičkový výzkum Operačního programu Jan Amos Komenský. V roli příjemce podpory bude v období 1. 1. 2024 – 30. 6. 2028 realizovat projekt Dynamika mozku / BRAin DYnamics (BRADY) a vést konsorcium zahrnující výzkumné týmy 3 partnerských institucí (Univerzita Karlova, České vysoké učení technické, Národní ústav duševního zdraví).
Projekt je zaměřen na rozvoj výpočetních modelů mozkové aktivity, které zachycují dynamiku mozku v různých časových měřítkách. Cílem projektu je v České republice rozvinout výzkum v oblasti aplikovatelné výpočetní neurovědy, zejména prostřednictvím provádění špičkového výzkumu, posilování vazeb na špičková zahraniční pracoviště, rozvojem personálních kapacit zapojených výzkumných týmů a posílením jejich experimentálních a výpočetních kapacit.

A postdoc position is available at the Institute of Computer Science under the supervision of Dr. Helmut Schmidt. The successful candidate will join a diverse team of researchers who work at the interface of neuroimaging and computational neuroscience, and will have the opportunity to work on one or more of the following topics: 1. the development of mathematical models of cortical microcircuits that are both biologically realistic and computationally efficient; 2. the integration of state-of-the-art mean field models of cortical activity into whole-brain network models, with a strong emphasis on realistic long-range axonal signal transmission; 3. the application of such models to neuroimaging data (EEG and fMRI).

A new project funded by the Praemium Academiae awarded to Milan Paluš (RNDr. Milan Paluš, DrSc.) by the Czech Academy of Sciences for the period 2020-2025 is open for applications for positions of research fellows or postdoctoral researchers. The project is oriented to study interactions and causality in nonlinear, multiscale complex systems with extreme events. The primary application fields will be the Earth climate, magnetosphere/ionosphere (space weather) and the human brain.
