Curriculum vitae

Education:

2016 - habilitation, sociology, Charles University, Prague

2008 - Ph.D. in sociology, Charles University, Prague

Field of specialisation:

My work is situated in-between sociology, social anthropology and STS and draws upon actor-network theory and related material-semiotic approached. I have investigated academic practices in the context of current policy changes, science and society relations, environmental controversies, the interfaces between biomedical and alternative therapeutic practices and, most recently, microbiopolitical citizenship.

In 2020, I became a member of the World Commission on the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST), an advisory body and forum of reflection set up by UNESCO. Since January 2021 I am part of the GSF/OECD expert group Mobilising Science in Crises.
