He will speak about his career path and will introduce the most inspiring research projects he was working on.

On May 19, 2023, #AlumniLive seminar series at CERGE-EI brought together students and alumni for an insightful session with Juraj Valachy, the Director of the Institute for Financial Policy (IFP) at the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic, and a CERGE-EI PhD graduate.
Juraj, one of the most recognized experts in macroeconomics and econometrics in Slovakia, shared his expertise on the role of analytical institutes in the Slovak government and the significance of data-driven policymaking. read more about this event on CERGE-EI Blog.
In March 2023, we hosted two Coffees with Alumni for CERGE-EI students, Boryana Madzharova from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and Martin Kuncl from the Bank of Canada. Students had an opportunity to informally network with alumni and ask them about their studies, or career path.
Several get-together alumni events took place in alumni communities all around the world in 2022. Alumni in the UK, in Slovakia, Armenia, Georgia, Italy, and the United States had a chance to meet and have a good time together. The events were sponsored by the CERGE-EI Foundation or Nadace CERGE-EI and organized with the support of Alumni Local Group Leaders.
The first #AlumniLive seminar with Ján Plánovský, a CERGE-EI PhD in Economics graduate, and a Head of Unit at the Publications Office of the EU, European Commission, Luxembourg, took place on October 21, 2022.
Jan Plánovský is a CERGE-EI PhD in Economics graduate from 2001 with more than 15 years of work experience for the European Commission. He has worked as a Head of Unit at Eurostat, and was in charge of International Trade Statistics – Production, IT Infrastructure, and Central Data and Metadata Services. Since 2017 he works as a Head of Unit at the Publications Office of the EU, European Commission, Luxembourg.
