New Academic Job Placements for CERGE-EI PhD Candidates

It comes with great pleasure to announce key academic placements of our CERGE-EI PhD candidates over the past few months.

Starting next academic year, Anna Pestova and Mikhail Mamonov will take up a Postdoctoral Researcher position and an Assistant Professor of Finance position, respectively, at Toulouse Business School, France.

Rastislav Rehák has secured a Postdoctoral position at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn and at the University of Cologne.

Pavel Ilinov will begin his term as a Postdoctoral Researcher at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland.

Maxim Senkov will hold a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), in Ireland.

Ketevani Kapanadze and Alena Skolkova will both join the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Law, Charles University, Ketevani as Assistant Professor in Applied Economics and Alena will start a Postdoctoral position in Data Science.

Jaroslav Groero started a position as a Research specialist - Postdoc at Masaryk University and Dali Laxton Tsintskiladze began her position as a Researcher at the Environment Centre of Charles University, Prague.

Some of these placements were secured through participation in the international academic job market, a unique and valued part of our PhD in Economics program for our top students.

All PhD candidates have demonstrated outstanding achievements throughout their studies. Ketevani Kapanadze won first place in the Young Economist 2021 competition of the Czech Economic Society. Jaroslav took part in CERGE-EI’s Teaching Fellowship program as Teaching Assistant and recently spent 5 months as a trainee at OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities. Anna, Mikhail, Rastislav, Maxim, Dali, and Ketevani all took part in CERGE-EI’s Student Mobilities program and conducted parts of their dissertation research at Princeton University, University of Oxford, University of Singapore, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
