With ongoing climate change and increasing water demands the proportion of drying streams in our country is rising. In these dynamic biotopes there are long-term persisting resistant and drying-adapted aquatic invertebrates. Moreover, during the dry periods these streams are also attractive due to their terrestrial fauna. The monitoring of drying streams, which now also involves citizens, helps in the assessment of climate change impact on river ecosystems and their inhabitants.
