The Academus Edition is a series intended for music publishing using contemporary methods of textual criticism and music philology. It is an open-ended editorial series without a focus on any specifically defined historical periods or musical genres, which makes available musical monuments, repertoire units, and works by composers regardless of their nationality. The edition focuses on previously unpublished repertoire and aims to map and promote previously unknown or less known areas of the musical history of the Bohemian lands. Jarmila Procházková founded the edition at the Department of Music History of the Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in 2015. Since the seventh volume, the Academus Edition has been published by the Institute of Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences and its Artefactum publishing house.
