Michal Kamrádek organized a seminar within the DAAD mobility project
Michal Kamrádek organized a seminar on 13 December within the mobility project between the ÚFE research team Fiber Lasers and Nonlinear Optics and the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology in Jena in Thüringen. The seminar took place in the ÚFE main building in Kobylisy.

On 13 December, Michal Kamrádek, this year's winner of the Otto Wichterle Prize, organized a seminar on „Novel glass materials and spectroscopy for high-power fiber lasers beyond 2 μm”. The seminar was held as part of a mobility project between the ÚFE research team Fiber Lasers and Nonlinear Optics and the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology in Jena in Thüringen (IPHT).

The presentations were very well received and sparked a lively discussion, as the topic of materials research for power fiber lasers is highly topical in terms of both fundamental research and practical applications. The seminar was attended by more than 30 participants, including partners from the Czech Optical Cluster.

The programme included the following lectures:

  • Pavel Honzátko: Introduction of the team of Fiber lasers and nonlinear optics
  • Petr Vařák: Nanoparticle doping towards highly thulium-doped fibers for 0.8-µm pumped 2-µm fiber lasers - a fluorescence lifetime study
  • Bára Švejkarová: Temperature-dependent spectroscopic properties of thulium-doped optical fibers
  • Pavel Peterka: Structured-core thulium-doped fibers for 2 μm fiber lasers
  • Antreas Theodosiou: Mid-IR optical fiber components: achievements and future steps
  • Robert Müller: Silica based, laser active fiber materials by gas phase deposition and powder based fabrication technologies
  • Matthias Jäger: Towards new wavelengths in fiber lasers
  • Maria Chernysheva: Ultrafast fiber lasers at IPHT
