HUMAN RESOURCES STRATEGY FOR RESEARCHERS (HRS4R)

16/01/2019, the Heyrovský Institute gained the HR Excellence in Research Award (HR Award) in recognition of its ongoing commitment to adopting the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
In March 2005, the European Commission adopted the Recommendation (2005/251 /EC) on the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (C&C), specifying the set of principles for an improved research system. The C&C principles define the roles, responsibilities and entitlements of researchers and their employers intending to create an attractive, open and sustainable labour market with equal rights and obligations in the European Union. Implementing the C&C principles in research institutions is supported by the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R). Maintaining the HR Award is not a given; institutions defend this certification in regular cycles.
All stages of HIPC’s commitment to the HRS4R
1. HIPC endorsed the commitment to the C&C on 15/11/2017.
2. HIPC was awarded a project by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) to support activities related to gain the HR Award: Rozvoj kapacit ÚFCH JH, v. v. i. pro výzkum a vývoj s reg. č. CZ.02.2.69/0.0/0.0/16_028/0006251 (2018-2022).
3. The long-term process revealing the gaps in the 40 principles of the C&C started in 2018, and the first Action Plan for the upcoming four years was prepared.

4. HIPC gained the HR Excellence in Research Award on 16/01/2019.
5. The MEYS awarded HIPC another project to support activities related to the HR Award: Rozvoj kapacit ÚFCH JH, v.v.i. pro výzkum a vývoj II - CZ.02.2.69/0.0/0.0/18_054/0014591 (2020-2022).
6. We passed the first milestone, the Interim Assessment, when we assessed the implementation status of Action Plan I, revised it and planned activities for the next three years. We received positive feedback from the assessors.

7. On 21/02/2024, we sent the assessors an Action Plan III, describing all implemented activities and proposing new ones. We are now waiting for feedback and preparing for the on-site visit.
