Development of the cardiac conduction system in mice

We use 3D imaging and optical mapping to analyze the cardiac conduction system and its development in mice.

Cardiac conduction system is a network of specialized tissue responsible for the creation and coordinated electrical impulse propagation in the heart. We participate in the development of a new multi-dimensional imaging method able to detect changes in the architecture of the conduction system during development of the mouse embryo.

Prof. David Sedmera kindly provided embryonic mouse hearts and Dr. Martin Čapek acquired their 3D images using optical projection tomography.
