Alumni Picnic September 21 2024

We are pleased to invite all alumni to the Alumni Picnic in Prague on Saturday, September  21, 2024, from 2-5 PM at Kampa Park in Prague. Partners/spouses, kids, and pets are all welcome.

Kampa Park in Prague 1 is a charming place beside the Vltava River with a kids’ playground, the famous Museum Kampa, and Jan Werich Villa.

Please bring your snacks and your blanket. We will find a place near avantguard Kavárna Mlýnská (Všehrdova 449/14) and drinks are on us! Engaging outdoor activities for children, complete with a surprise, will also be prepared.

Come and enjoy this opportunity to celebrate fresh graduates, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones.

  • The first Alumni Bowling took place on June 1, 2024, in Bowling Celnice, Prague 1. 
  • Another #AlumniLive seminar with Zuzana Fungáčová from the Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies (BOFIT) in Helsinki took place on May 10, 2024. You can watch the recording of the seminar on YouTube.
  • We continued with our #AlumniLive Coffee Breaks also in the Fall of 2023 and Spring 2024. We were honored to welcome back at school our alumni Ondřej Knot, CEO and co-founder of a fin-tech company Dateio,  Vladimír Novák, a Senior Economist at the National Bank of Slovakia,  Mykola Babiak, an Assistant Professor in Finance at Lancaster University Management School, UK, and Radek Laštovička, Senior Manager in Financial Services Consulting, EY Czech Republic.  
  • The #AlumniLive seminar held in December 2023 featured Vojtěch Bartoš, a CERGE-EI alumnus and Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods (DEMM) at the University of Milan. The event was organized as part of the CERGE-EI #AlumniLive series, a networking initiative for CERGE-EI students and alumni, aiming to foster connections and provide insights into successful career paths.

We will find a place near Skautsky Institut – Rybarna (U Sovových Mlýnů 134/1) and drinks are on us! 
  • On May 19, 2023, #AlumniLive seminar series at CERGE-EI brought together students and alumni for an insightful session with Juraj Valachy, the Director of the Institute for Financial Policy (IFP) at the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic, and a CERGE-EI PhD graduate. Juraj, one of the most recognized experts in macroeconomics and econometrics in Slovakia, shared his expertise on the role of analytical institutes in the Slovak government and the significance of data-driven policymaking. read more about this event on CERGE-EI Blog.
  • In March 2023, we hosted two Coffees with Alumni for CERGE-EI students, Boryana Madzharova from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and Martin Kuncl from the Bank of Canada.  Students had an opportunity to informally network with alumni and ask them about their studies, or career path. 
  • Several get-together alumni events took place in alumni communities all around the world in 2022. Alumni in the UK, in Slovakia, Armenia, Georgia, Italy, and the United States had a chance to meet and have a good time together. The events were sponsored by the CERGE-EI Foundation or Nadace CERGE-EI and organized with the support of Alumni Local Group Leaders.    
  • The first #AlumniLive seminar with Ján Plánovský, a CERGE-EI PhD in Economics graduate, and a Head of Unit at the Publications Office of the EU, European Commission, Luxembourg, took place on October 21, 2022. Jan Plánovský is a CERGE-EI PhD in Economics graduate from 2001 with more than 15 years of work experience for the European Commission. He has worked as a Head of Unit at Eurostat, and was in charge of International Trade Statistics – Production, IT Infrastructure, and Central Data and Metadata Services. Since 2017 he works as a Head of Unit at the Publications Office of the EU, European Commission, Luxembourg.
  • We are pleased to invite you to the first Alumni Picnic on Saturday, September 10, 2022, 3-6 PM at Park Parukarka in Prague. Partners/spouses and kids are welcome. Park Parukářka in Prague 3 is known for its beautiful view of Prague, three kids’ playgrounds, and a legendary pub Hospůdka Parukářka. Please bring your snacks and your own blanket. We will find a place near Hospůdka Parukářka and the first drink is on us!
  • We cordially invite you to the CERGE-EI alumni&friends Beer Party in Bratislava on Friday, September 16, from 6 pm. Drinks&light food provided. The event will take place at Meštiansky pivovar, Dunajská 21, Bratislava. The event is part of the SEAM 2022 conference.
