Andrea Downing has been teaching at CERGE-EI since September 2012. She received her Ph.D. in Economic and Social History from the University of Liverpool, UK in 1998 and M.A. in Research Methods in the Social Sciences from the University of Liverpool, UK in 1993. Her Bachelor’s degree is in Economic Geography, from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies. She worked as a Lecturer in Economic Geography and Anglophone Studies at Metropolitan University in Prague from 2010 to 2012. Andrea has extensive experience in teacher training and development at the postgraduate level, as well as course design and assessment. She has taught in China, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Oman, Lebanon and Prague. She is currently pursuing an action research project on intervention styles in individual consultations at the postgraduate level.
