Nanobiomaterials: From nanopatterned biointerfaces to DNA-based nanoantibiotics

Organic and inorganic nanomaterials have promising applications in biomedicine, ranging from drug delivery to disease diagnostics to tissue engineering. This presentation will give an overview of our recent and ongoing activities related to protein adsorption at nanopatterned surfaces, molecular lithography, high-speed atomic force microscopy, and biomedical DNA origami nanocarriers. In addition, some preliminary results on the application of DNA origami nanostructures in antimicrobial therapy will be presented.

Dr. Adrian Keller is an associate professor at Paderborn University in German in the Department of Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry. Dr. Keller's research focuses on Nanobiomaterials, which he also studied during his Feodor Lynen fellowship in Denmark. He defended his habilitation in Chemical Engineering of Biomolecular Systems five years ago.
