People of CERGE-EI: Meet Our Faculty

13 March, 2023

Michal Bauer has been an Associate Professor with Tenure (under US permanent charter) at CERGE-EI and a member of the Executive and Supervisory Committee of CERGE-EI since 2017.

His research spans behavioural economics, development economics and experimental economics. The unifying motivation is to shed light on “behavioural” mechanisms that may contribute to pressing social issues, including poverty, discrimination and violent inter-group conflicts. To do so, he conducts field experiments in relevant settings, often in disadvantaged communities. His research appeared in number of leading journals, including American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Perspectives, Nature or PNAS.
