New Academic Placements for CERGE-EI PhD Candidates

We are delighted to announce key academic placements of our CERGE-EI PhD candidates over the past few months.

Marta Cota has accepted a tenure-track Assistant Professor position at the Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, Portugal. Her research interests lie in macroeconomics and household finance. During her studies, Marta participated in CERGE-EI’s Student Mobility program and conducted part of her dissertation research at the University of Minnesota, New York University, and Copenhagen Business School. Marta has also spent time as a research intern at the Dutch National Bank.

Ella Sargsyan has secured a Postdoctoral Researcher position at UCLouvain. Ella is an empirical economist with research interests mainly focused on development economics. She visited the MIT Sloan School of Management and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University under CERGE-EI’s Student Mobility program.

Dušan Stojanović accepted a position in the fall of 2023 at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission in Seville as Economic Analyst - General Equilibrium Modeler in B2 Unit, Fiscal Policy Analysis team. He began working there in April 2024.

Daniil Kashkarov will join Universidad Carlos III in Madrid as a Postdoctoral Researcher. His interests lie in macroeconomics and labor economics, with a focus on life-cycle modeling, skills accumulation, and the adaptation of workers to labor market disruptions. In his current research, Daniil integrates adaptation theory from biology, ecology, and economics to analyze and predict workers' adaptation to automation, AI introduction, and climate change. He spent three semesters at Yale University under the CERGE-EI Student Mobility program.

Artem Razumovskii will join Budapest University of Technology and Economics as a Postdoctoral Researcher. His research interests lie in microeconomic theory, behavioral economics, game theory, and experimental economics. Artem conducted part of his dissertation research at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Spain, under CERGE-EI’s Student Mobility program.

These placements were secured through participation in the international academic job market, a unique and valued part of our PhD in Economics program for our top students.
