People of CERGE-EI: Meet Our Faculty

Christian Ochsner has been an Assistant Professor at CERGE-EI (under U.S. permanent charter) since 2018. Christian holds a Dr. rer. pol. degree (equivalent to Ph.D.) from Dresden University of Technology, Germany.

He was employed as a Junior Economist at the Ifo Institute for Economic Research (during doctoral studies) and as a Research Fellow/Postdoc at the University of Zurich (part-time). He was a Visiting Research Student at the University of Warwick (United Kingdom) and a Visiting Researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies Vienna (Austria). Christian held M.Sc. lectures on economic history at TU Dresden. He received a B.A. in Business and Economics at the University of Basel, Switzerland, and an M.Sc. in Economics at Humboldt-University Berlin, Germany. He was awarded by Jan Švejnar and Katherine Terrell’s Teaching Prize and Heinz König Young Scholar Award.
