The inventor of White OLEDs, Prof. Junji Kido, visited J. Heyrovský Institute
On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the CAS hosted a Micro symposium and V4 project meeting. Among the participants of this international event was Professor Junji Kido from Yamagata University in Japan, the world-renowned inventor of White OLEDs (White Organic Light-Emitting Diodes).
During his visit, Professor Kido delivered a lecture summarizing his 35 years of pioneering research and development in the field of OLEDs. His work has led to significant advancements in technology, which today find widespread applications in modern electronic devices, from displays to lighting solutions.
Micro symposium attendees also had the opportunity to listen to other fascinating lectures, such as those by Professor Akito Masuhara and Professor Takayuki Chiba. The complete program of the meeting is available for download here.
Inspiration for the AMULET Project
Professor Junji Kido's participation in the Micro symposium at the Heyrovský Institute significantly resonates with the ongoing AMULET project, which aims to create multi-scale two-dimensional materials with unique properties. Professor Kido, with his profound knowledge in OLED technology, brings valuable experience and inspiration that could be crucial for the development of new materials in the AMULET project.
We thank Professor Kido and his colleagues for their visit and valuable contribution to our Micro symposium. We look forward to further collaboration and continued advancement of this innovative technology.
