Sabbatical visit program
IOCB Prague invites applications for the IOCB Sabbatical Visit Program from prominent scientists at reputable foreign universities and research institutions.
Financial support is granted based on a joint application submitted by the host and the visiting scientist. The length of the guest's visit can range from six weeks to one year, with the possibility of applying for an extension in exceptional cases.
The institute provides a gross salary of 70,000 CZK per month and covers the obligatory employer contributions to health and social insurance. The salary is subject to income tax, and full health insurance coverage is included as part of the fellowship.
Applications
Interested researchers must contact a prospective scientist at IOCB and agree on a research project before submitting their application.
The application must include an outline of the proposed research activities and an affidavit stating that the guest's parent organization has granted them sabbatical leave and is not covering their stay at IOCB, or if it is, the amount covered.
Additionally, the application should include the guest's CV, a list of their publications, and a statement from the host regarding the working conditions provided to the guest.
Furthermore, the application must contain an agreement explicitly stating that publications arising from the guest's activities at the IOCB will bear the institute's address, and that the institute is entitled to a share of the intellectual property created during the guest's stay.
Applications should be submitted as a single PDF file by the respective IOCB group leader to fellowship@uochb.cas.cz. The submission deadlines are April 1 and October 1 each year. Candidates will be selected by the Selection Committee at its regular semi-annual meetings. The Selection Committee may recommend the approval of up to three applications per year.
Requests for an extension must include a summary of the results from the first year and plans for the extension period.
