Evropským pavoukem roku 2024 byl společností European Society of Arachnology pro rok 2024 zvolen temnomil sklepní (Nesticus cellulanus). Jde o jediného středoevropského zástupce čeledi Nesticidae. Článek pojednává o jeho morfologii a unikátních behaviorálních prvcích při rozmnožování a lovu kořisti. Dále jsou zde shrnuty poznatky o stanovištních nárocích a rozšíření. Čtenáři jsou vyzváni, aby pomohli s mapováním výskytu tohoto druhu v České republice.

Comb-footed Cellar Spider (Nesticus cellulanus) has been selected as the European Spider of the Year 2024 by the European Society of Arachnology. It is the only Central European representative of the family Nesticidae. The paper discusses its morphology and unique behavioural features in its reproduction and prey hunting. It also summarises knowledge about its habitat requirements and distribution. Readers are invited to help map the species’ range in the Czech Republic.
