Článek pojednává o životě a práci českého přírodovědce Ferdinanda Stoličky (1838–1874). Připomíná blížící se 150. výročí jeho úmrtí a zmíněna je cesta autorů článku do Indie, která má za cíl prozkoumat jeho dílo a život. Stolička byl znám jako velmi inteligentní a přátelský muž. Měl značný podíl na rozšíření znalostí o přírodě a různých kulturách, zejména v oblastech Alp a střední Asie.
Na Stoličkovu památku byla autory tohoto článku nově pojmenována jedna křižovatka v Indii, stát Tamilnádu – Stoliczka Cross: 11.134101677141468“N, 78.98385536925421“E.

This article discusses the life and work of the Czech naturalist Ferdinand Stolička (1838–1874). The forthcoming 150th anniversary of his death is commemorated, and the authors refer to their trip to India to explore his life and work. Stolička was known as a very intelligent and amicable man. He made a significant contribution to the expansion of knowledge of nature and different cultures, especially in the regions of the Alps and Central Asia.
