Jakub Steiner Elected a Member of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic

The Learned Society of the Czech Republic brings together prominent scientists working in the Czech Republic.
Its main aim is "to promote the free practice of science in all of its manifestations, inspire the desire for knowledge and joy thereof, spread scientific findings amongst the public, and champion improvement in the levels of education and creative, rational and personally responsible social environment in the Czech Republic".
According to the society's constitution, membership requires "significant and creative contributions to science, and moral integrity". New members are elected at a more advanced stage of their scientific career in recognition of their long-term effort.
Associate Professor Jakub Steiner is an internationally renowned economist whose research is based on mathematical modelling of economic phenomena. His current research focuses on behavioural economics, where he studies the deviations of actors from rational behaviour. Associate Professor Steiner is also the principal investigator of two grants awarded by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic, one ERC grant, and has served on the editorial boards of the most prestigious economic journals.
