Bára Švejkarová won the Best Poster Award at the Europhoton conference in Vilnius
Bára Švejkarová, a PhD student from the Fibre lasers and non-linear optics research team, took first place in the competition for the best poster at the Europhoton conference, which took place on 25-30 August in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Experts from the BIOCEV Centre (Faculty of Science at Charles University) and the HiLASE Centre (Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences) are working on the research as part of the LasApp project and the STAR Science and Technology Cluster.
The first laser eye surgery in Czechoslovakia
It has been 60 years since the first laser eye surgery in Czechoslovakia, which took place under the direction of Dr. Jan John in the building of our institute in 1964.
Petr Kůrka scored at BioEM 2024
The Bioelectrodynamics research team has received a major award through its member. Petr Kůrka won first place in the Student Platform Award competition at the BioEM 2024 conference.
HiLASE Centre Dolní Břežany
The new LasApp project was presented at the international workshop Laser Innovative Technologies, organized by the Czech Optical Cluster on June 5 - 6 in Dolní Břežany (Centrum HiLASE and ELI Beamlines).

The LasApp project aims at effective support of laser research and thus the technological development of the Czech Republic. It connects excellent research centers of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Charles University and other institutions and focuses on the most up-to-date fiber and thin-disc lasers, which are used, e.g. in industry, medicine and defence.
