Dr. Musiienko is mainly dealing with Heusler Ni-Mn-Ga single crystalline magnetic shape memory (MSM) material.

His current research objectives are:

  • Develop and optimize fabrication methods for the MSM microsystems;
  • Study the changes of the essential physical properties of the MSM microstructures caused by the size decrease and subsequently determine the limits for MSM materials application on micro- and nanoscale;
  • Design and fabricate micromagnetomechanical systems based on MSM alloys;
  • Demonstrate the practical usage of the created micromagnetomechanical systems.

At the same time Dr. Musiienko is working on the development and optimisation of the single crystalline growth methodology within the FZU.
