Mariia’s research focuses on studying liver pathologies through advanced in vitro liver models and 3D cell culturing techniques. Additionally, she investigates nanoparticle-induced hepatotoxicity, analyzing the toxic effects on vulnerable livers afflicted with conditions such as fatty liver disease, fibrosis, or cirrhosis.

Mariia also coordinates collaborative efforts between the Laboratory of Biophysics and the Laboratory of Experimental Hepatology at the Center of Experimental Medicine, IKEM (Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine). Her role is pivotal in facilitating joint research projects and fostering interdisciplinary approaches to understanding and addressing liver diseases.
