Two laboratories, two comparative collections and a library constitute the service utilities of the department. The laboratories provide processing of samples, both collections and the library are accessible on request.

Palynology laboratory offers processing of samples of humolites, mineral soil and plant material for purposes of pollen analysis in botany, archaeology and similar.

Plant and soil material analysis laboratory serves for internal purposes.

Pollen collection includes pollen samples of the most Central European plant species. The collection is regularly renewed and supplied and serves as comparative material for scientific purposes (determination of species based on pollen grains). The collection is available on-site.

Seed collection includes more than 4000 samples of seed and fertile organs of vascular plants. It serves as comparative material for scientific purposes. The collection is available on-site.
