Second announcement

SIZE and SCOPE

The VIII-th Symposium on Surface Physics (SSP8) to be held in Trest Castle follows previous international surface science meetings:
Smolenice Castle (1971 and 1984), Bechyne Castle (1980 and 1987), Chlum Castle (1990 and 1993) and Trest Castle (1996).
The size, form and scope of the symposium should be similar to those of previous meetings, with around 20 invited speakers and up to 100 participants. The symposium will emphasize crystallographic and electron structure aspects of surface physics. The program will consist of invited lectures (45 minutes) and of contributed communications presented orally (15 minutes) and as posters.

VENUE, DATES, TRAVEL

The Symposium will take place at the Trest Castle, Czech Republic, 150 km east of Praha, near Jihlava. The Symposium lectures start by the opening address on Monday, June 28, 1999. The symposium ends on Friday afternoon, July 2.

PROCEEDINGS

Invited lectures will be published in a special issue of the Progress in Surface Science and selected contributed papers in a special issue of the Czechoslovak Journal of Physics.

ABSTRACTS

The abstracts of all contributions have to reach the organizers before March 1. They are to be prepared in TeX typesetting system (preferably LaTeX) in the following format:
In addition, the abstract should be submitted also by e-mail to the address: ssp8@fzu.cz
