J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the AS CR, v.v.i., offers new positions (interview - May 5, 2009):
• a 1-year postdoctoral position (with a possibility of extension to a 2nd year) in the molecular cluster group of the Department of Photochemistry, Spectroscopy and Ion Chemistry
Requirements: Degree in physics or physical chemistry. The project concerns photodissociation studies of molecules in cluster environments on a molecular beam apparatus. It will include building of new experiment with ion imaging. The candidate should have some knowledge about molecular physics and chemistry, clusters, complexes various spectroscopies etc. He/she can benefit from a previous experience with the following experimental techniques: vacuum, charged particle and laser techniques, molecular beams, ion imaging. The position will be financed by Grant No.: 203/09/0422 of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic.
• a position in the Laboratory of electrocatalysis on solid surfaces of the Department of Electrocatalysis
Requirements: PhD in chemistry, physics or material science, experimental as well as theoretical experience with X-ray absorption spectroscopy in both EXAFS and XANES modes, ability to prepare synchrotron beam-line proposals and usher them through reviewing process.
