The Institute of Physiology serves as a center of pre- and postgradual
education for the Charles University, Prague.
Study programs are many, namely in biology and medicine (see below).
These activities occure in collaboration with several other institutions
belonging to universities or to the Academy in the Czech Republic,
as well as abroad, e.g. in France, Italy, United Kingdom, and USA.
The postgraduate training can proceed in two ways, either based on
a stipend from the University (for three up to four years) or based on
a temporary position at the Institute (without support from the University).
In both cases, the education is enabled by additional funding from grant projects
and other sources. The postgraduate studies are concluded by PhD thesis which must
be defended at the University. In 2005, scientists from the Institute served as
principal supervisors for 89 postgraduate students (see also "Research").
