Workshop will bring together research workers and designers dealing with life prediction of materials, structural parts and integral structures subjected to variable loading conditions. The principal theoretical and experimental methods for life evolution will be presented and discussed. Participants both from research and industry are expected to participate. Contributions including the following topics are invited: (i) general philosophy of life estimation in the design stage, (ii) selection of materials and their properties, (iii) behavior of materials during cyclic loading, (iv) computer systems capable of life prediction based on the material characteristics and (v) life prediction systems for specific structures.
