What about relativity  There are thus many reasons to declare 2005 the Word Year of Physics in memory of Albert Einstein. He was a deep and serious thinker who - as almost all really serious people - had a refined sense of humor, however. He will thus hopefully pardon me for the above numerological antics as well as for a note that although we do not know the impact factor of the journals he published in, the citation index of his articles (the number of which would not be sufficient to attain a higher scientific grade at the Institute) is surely admirable. |
Probably there is not a single field of physics (and thus chemistry, biology etc.), which would not be influenced by Einstein’s discoveries in the 20th century. In spite of this, my
question how Einstein influenced macromolecular science was considered as some kind of riddle or pun by almost all my colleagues. There was one who pointed out the frequency of quoting the statement “Everything is relative” at our seminars, in particular in those cases when somebody is forced to admit his fallacy.
