Conservation genetics of selected vertebrates in the Western Balkans (2008-2009)
Investigator: doc. Mgr. et Mgr. Josef Bryja, Ph.D. Main goals of the project are: (1) To increase knowledge and expertise in conservation genetics, biogeography and phylogeography; (2) To develop molecular diagnostic tools for the identification of potentially isolated taxa; (3) To improve molecular genetic methods for assessment of biogeographic and conservation issues, including gene flow, demographic »bottleneck« effect, population expansion, colonization and vicariance; (4) To upgrade skills of researchers in molecular genetic research in phyogeography and conservation genetics; (5) To exchange of expertise among researchers from cooperating institutions. |
